I'm hoping someone can help me. My GGG Grandmother was Emma Gosling born c1831 in Kidderminster. She married John Morris on 16 August 1852 in Kidderminster. I can find no record of her in either the 1841 or 1851 census. Can anyone assist me further?

Many thanks
Vetsy

Hi Vetsy

The closest I can get for the 1851 census is:

Emma Gosley aged 19 in a lodging house in Kidderminster

You’ve probably already come across this, but here’s the reference anyway:
HO107/2038/195 Pg3

Good luck
John

Vetsy,

If you order her marriage certificate online from the ONS (www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/), it will at least give you the name of her father which may make it easier to trace her in earlier census records. The appropriate reference number details are vol 6c, page 255, September qtr 1852 at Kidderminster registration district. I cannot find any GOSLINGs in Kidderminster in the 1841 census (via Ancestry) although there are 2 GOSELEYs, both male, and no sign of an Emma.
