My great great grandparents were John Bogue and Ellen/Helen Halliday, and they married on 2/4/1871 in St Annes in the Parish of Belfast. Johns occupation was listed as a labourer, with no occupation being listed for Ellen/Helen. I know for sure they had a daughter, Mary, who married in scotland in 1893, by which time John was deceased. The spelling of the name seems to have changed from Bogue to Boag sometime within that period. I believe that they may also have had a son, who went to america,(jersey city) but i do not have a name, only a very old letter which appears to have been written to his mother. If anyone can help with any information, i would be very grateful. Mary married in scotland on 2/6/1893 to Robert Donaldson. She kept her name after marrying, as she worked as a French Polisher.

The family must have then moved to scotland at some point, as i believe that their daughter was born in glasgow. Could this be when the spelling of the name changed?
