Hi,

I would be greatful of any information on the service of HMS Jupiter during the first world war. My great great grandad Frank Leonard Hollands served as a stoker on the Jupiter and apparently travelled to Archangel in Russia to supply troops. Would this be correct?

Any information at all on HMS Jupiter would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

I have a note that she did go to Archangel in WW1, presumably guarding convoys.

HMS Jupiter, launched November 1895. pre-dreadnought Majestic class battleship. 4x12 in guns (two turrets fore and aft), 12x6 in, 16x12 pdr. 14,000 tons, waterline length 399ft, beam 75ft. 10,000HP, 16.5 kts. If you have any photos of ships which you think may be her, she had a single funnel and can be identified by three horizontal white stripes on the funnel.
