When I request an 1841 census lookup for Family "CAREY" in the potteries area what information do I nreed to provide, and is it ok to ask for this on this forum?

It's advisable to give as much information as possible, when asking for census look-ups ..... full names, ages, occupations, birthplaces and the area where you think they may be living at the time of the census.

The 1841 Census doesn't list the birth town though ..... only the birth County. With yours in Staffordshire, if they were born in that County, a Y will be alongside each name ..... otherwise an N listed, means that they were born in another County.

The ages tend to be 'rounded up or down' to the nearest five years in most cases, but some correct ages are listed on quite a lot ..... this is a matter of luck! :)
