A poser for some cleverclogs:

George Hood DANIELS bc1867 Gillingham, Kent living at 15 Cross St Gillingham in 1881 with parents George bc1825 Suffield Norfolk, Harriet E bc1839 Gravesend and siblings Alfred bc1868, Charles bc1872, Alice H bc1875 (all Gillingham),

Can't find the family in 1871/1861, nor can I find George H in 1891 (?possibly in the army).

1899 (2Q Medway 2a/1315) George H marries my relative Elizabeth Sexton Peake (known as Libben).

1901 George H is with mother-in-law Mary Anne Emma Peake in Gillingham.
Libben is with grandmother in Faversham.

THEN, Libben goes on to produce 3 children with Jacob FIELD - Doris 1907, Royal 1909 and Kathleen 1911. There is also a 4th child William b1904 who is said to have been adopted by Libben and Jacob, but I suspect he might also be Jacob's.

I can find no sign of George H's death, nor a marriage for Libben and Jacob. Can anyone help, please? Or give me any useful suggestions?

It's not a vital question as he isn't in my direct line, but it's bugging me a bit.

Hi Davran,

They left it a bit late but finally tied the knot in Mar Qtr 1915
District: Woolwich, Vol: 1d, Page: 1786.

Couldn't see a death for George Hood Daniels right up until 1960. However, there are a couple of G H Daniels shown as war dead on the CWGC site at
http://www.cwgc.org/ and many others listed simply as G Daniels - all for the 1st World War. Hope this helps.

Best Wishes
Brenda

Thanks very much Brenda and Willow. I will have a look at the WWI website.
