I suspect that Rev Walter Sellon must be conected with the Sellons of Yateley, North Hampshire, but have never got him into line. I know little of him, (the Victorians said that he came over from France, but this is untrue).

1 SELLON, Walter, b: 1715 d: 1792

2 SELLON, Walter, b: Unknown in ? d: 03 April 1752 in Kingswood, drowned at school

He was an Anglican who worked closely with Charles Wesley at the start of his ministry. They both were associated with Selina, Countess of Huntingdon, in her evangelising efforts.

For a short time Walter Sellon taught at Charles Wesley's school, his son died there by drowning.

Unlke Wesley and the Countess who both became dissenters Walter Sellon remained within the Established Church, having livings at Breydon and in Yorkshire.
