Hosking, Hosken and sometimes recorded as Hockin, Hocken and Hocking ... I can't yet make them fit into "one" family, but some around Sancreed and Sennen I'm interested in.

    Hi,
I have details of quite a few Hoskens (and variant spellings) in the same area as you.
I have just looked at your husbands ancestors and following back from William (1851) this is what is available. There is probably more to find.
    1851 census at Velensarjia, St.Buryan.
    William Hosken aged 37 agri.lab born St.Buryan
    Blanch aged 41 born St.Levan
William aged 4 months born St.B.

William Hosken married Blanch Matthews 10th.Dec.1849 at St.B.
His Father, William Hosken , a Farmer
Her Father, James Matthews, a Farmer
Blanch Matthews bapt. 31 March 1808 at St.Levan, d/o James and Blanch
James Matthews married Blanch Uren, 17th. Dec. 1792 at Sennen.
1841 census at Churchtown, St. B. Penmennor.
    Thomas Matthews 35 agri lab
    Grace 35
    Emely 11
    Margaret 8
    Thomasine 6
    Elizabeth 4
    Mary 2
    Joanna 1 week
    Blanch 70 widow, independent
    Blanch 28 female servant
    Blanch Matthews (SNR) buried 5th.nov 1853 at St.B.aged 82
Blanch Uren bapt.26th. Dec. 1770 at Sennen. d/o Nicholas and Jane.
Nicholas Uren and Joan Harvey married 12th. feb. 1770 at Sennen.
Quite common for Jane and Joan to be interchangeable.
Nicholas Uren buried 1st. Dec.1816 at Sennen aged 79
Joan Uren buried 28th.Feb.1830 at Sennen aged 83
I hope that this is of use. If you would like message=Hi,

Sorry, all my Hoskin lot are from around Mousehole or Newlyn, with one Hosking from Penzance and one Hosking from Ludgvan. I am trying to see if there is any connection between the two Hosking names (both maiden names) - one is mother-in-law to the other - and it is messing with my head.

    Default hosking/hoskin

Hi, I am looking for the family of Hosking, My ggg, grandmothers name was Elizabeth Hosking she married James Kneebone in 1821 Stithians near Redruth.
I believe her father was William Hosking and he married Joanna or Jane Slade in 1794 Falmouth. I always believed she came from Penryn but on the information I have she was born Saint Gluvias. I don't know if this has any bearing on what you are after.
So if their is anyone out there that can help me I would appreciate it.
