This new thread follows on from an earlier thread Judah Lee Simmonds-Maria Solomon who were the parents of Benjamin Lee Simmonds.
Benjamin died in 1929 and had married Rachael Lyons in 1889.
The Morning Post Monday February 6, 1899 recorded On the 2nd inst.at 110 Brondesbury Villas Kilburn at the residence of his cousin B L Simmonds, Benjamin Jacobs; formerly of Camberwell New Road in his seventy second year. As posted in previous threads the Jacobs and Simmonds related through marriage.

In this post I will provide data on Mayer Lyons and Elizabeth Isaacs the parents of Edward Emanuel Lyons. Cemetery Scribes records show Mayer Lyons tombstone ID 14454 - 1807 b Germany -1869 married Elizabeth Isaacs b 1813. The family records show Phoebe b 1834 and Nathaniel b 1836 but Edward Emanuel is not listed. However, the Probate for Mayer Lyons shows- Mayer Lyons late of Margate Kent Pawnbroker died 1 February 1869 at Margate Proved by the oaths of Edward Emmanuel Lyons of Margate Auctioneer and Nathaniel Lyons of Margate Pawn broker the sons and Samuel Solomon Citu of Canterbury Furniture Broker three of the executors- Effects under £3000. The Morning Chronicle Weds Dec 8, 1858 recorded Partnerships Dissolved Mayer Lyons-Edward Emanuel Lyons of Margate, Pawnbrokers.

The following is taken from the Jewish Chronicle Archives and provides newspaper accounts on the Lyons and Simmonds families as previously posted on this earlier thread.

On the 22 December at 110 Brondesbury Villas Kilburn PHOEBE the relict of EDWARD LYONS of Canterbury and dearly beloved mother of Mrs B L SIMMONDS in her 81st year

This is likely to refer to Benjamin Lee Simmonds who died in 1929.. SIMMONDS-The Tombstone in loving memory of Ben SIMMONDS will be consecrated at Willesden Cemetery next Sept 20 1929

On the 3rd August at 38 Victoria Road Kilburn NW the wife of B L Simmonds (nee Ray LYONS) of a daughter August 8 1890

All three children of Benjamin Lee Simmonds and Rachel Lyons died before their mother. There were no children born from each of the three children. Rachel survived her husband and her children.

On the 27 January 1933 Leslie Alec SIMMONDS 2 Laurel Mansions NW6 Beloved only son of Mrs Ray SIMMONDS and the late B L Simmonds-Feb 24 1933
