Need to know how best to interrogate Forces War Records. Drawn a blank so far.
Have fathers release order from Navy whilst serving in Royal Navy under T124 transfer from Merchant navy.

Also have name of ship as HMS Atheling (Carrier).

For nearly all Second World War personnel if you want the maximum amount of available information you must contact the Ministry of Defence HERE and request your father's full service history.

Second World War data is in short supply for private companies like Forces War Records, however we pride ourselves on the small collections we have been able to secure.

You might be interested in THIS HISTORY PAGE for HMS Atheling available from the Naval-History.net website. It is a very good account of her voyages during 1944 and 1945, one of the best freely available sources.
