11 Jan 1915 he was appointed Lance corporal then 28 July 1815 he was acting corporal,posted 5 Oct 1915 (doesn't say where). 11 November promoted to Corporal. 25 October 1916 he became a sergeant
Then it went wrong as he was charged by District court martial at Devonport 12 Feb 1917 for drunkenness and demoted to Corporal
There are a few more postings then he is made L/Sgt? 16 May 1917 then on 8 June 1918 he was reverted to Corporal for misconduct
