Does anyone know how I can access this Special List for WW2? I am looking for my late husband's record.

Hello
Do you have your late husband's service record available only from the MoD?
Whether it will enlighten you to what the Special List I don't know but may help solve the mystery. This 'sticky' explains where to apply and gives the necessary links.

You could check the Army List. Most library services in UK have a selection - the National Archives has a good run of them.
