Can anyone help, I am tracing both the Jordan and King Families. I have traced back to Abraham and Barbara Jordan moving from Iken to Sternfield in around 1768 (Settlement Certificate) but cannot find any trace of either before that, but we know they took their later children back to Iken to be baptized. Where did Abraham actually come from and where did they marry?

The King family seem to move around the area, eg Leiston, Westleton and Knodishall, that is according to my grandmother who claims to have been born in a cottage on 'The Common in around 1890'. The family also used the same naming tradition eg two brothers would name their firstborn son after their father and to confuse things further would have wives of the same name. It takes some sorting out!

I am back at Richard King marrying Sarah Button in around 1790 but cannot prove this, there seems to be no trace in the registers I have searched so far. So like the Jordans where did they come from and where did they marry?

Can anyone shed any light on any of this?
