If you're asking for help, then you need to give us a few more clues.
Name, year and place of birth.
What information do you already have (e.g. he married Mary Smith in 1920 in Kensington registration district) as it's no good us wasting our time looking for stuff you already know.
And exactly what would like to know?

Thanks Pam, I thought this was just to introduce me and what I'm looking for - my main post is in 'Army' asking for Major R C Coates and Christina has already responded - but there is a long way to go!

I did wonder why you were putting a post in 'introduce yourself' when you'd already made two previous posts.
Which grandfather are you looking for? Your maternal one, who was killed in 1914?
Or the father of E. G. Coates? If the latter, come back when you have the marriage certificate for your mum and dad, which will hopefully give a father's name and occupation against your father's entry.
We might also need your father's first name and likely year of birth (calculated from his age at marriage), but try us with your grandfather's name and occupation first.
For reference Derek's other thread is here.
