Default How long to get to Canada?

On October 29 1801,The Exeter Flying Post reported that the Scout sailed from Portsmouth for Newfoundland 24 October 1801.

On January 4 1802 The Morning Chronical reported (dated January 1) that the Scout, which had left Portsmouth on October 20, had not arrived on December 21 when the Concord sailed.

So the Concord would have made the trip back to England in under 11 days.
The Scout was an eighteen gun sloop. I am trying to work out how long the Scout should have taken to make the voyage.
At least these two newspaper reports help in giving a better estimate of when the Scout was lost. Previous findings have indicated "November 1801, .... or 1802".

It is commonly stated that the Scout was lost off Newfoundland, but all I can find is that it left Plymouth and did not arrive (presumably Halifax). I haven't found any reports in Canadian newspapers.

If anyone can find any reference in Canadian newspapers that may help.

    thanks
