    Smile ATS Catterick Camp

I was hoping to find information about my mother as an ATS girl during WW2, but cannot find any information relating to the ATS so can anyone tell me how I can find this out. She was at Catterick Camp.

WW2 service records - women's as well as men's - are still with the Ministry fo Defence. You won't find them anywhere else.

This is the link to apply for a copy - https://www.gov.uk/requests-for-pers...ervice-records

For more general information on the ATS (not about a specific person), it's worth just doing a general search - using Google on ATS and WW2 took me to a number of interesting sites.

For example, if you've just joined FWR, THIS would be a good place to look as a starter. It'll give you and idea of the sort of things she would have been doing.
The Imperial War Museum site HERE has photos.
