    Welcome to British-Genealogy.

You don't say which regiment, but I would have thought that you needed to read the war diaries of that regiment to find out more specific details. War diaries are at The National Archives at Kew.

Have a read of this guide, and then search using the hints in section three.

The problem is, I live in Belgium. So I hoped to find some information on the internet. But until now, I found nothing at all.

If you google 'East Lancashire regiment' you get a link to their page of the Lancashire Infantry museum.
There's supposed to be a link to a detailed summary of the full part played by the Regiment in World War II but at the moment it's broken.
I would suggest you contact the museum and (a) tell them about the broken link and (b) tell them about the badge being found and ask if they know any further details about the regiment and Zelem.
