Thanks - it is particularly useful to find out where he is buried as it would be nice to get a picture of his grave.

Norman Walter Akhurst (1909-11) Lieutenant Queen’s Own Royal West Kent Regiment
Died of wounds, Machine Gun Corps (Infantry), Died of wounds 8 June 1918, aged 22 [Source: Sandwich War Memorial]
DOULLENS COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION NO.2, Somme
    1911
    46 New Street Sandwich
Walter James Akhurst 45 Ironmonger, Employer
    Minnie Elizabeth Akhurst 45
    Connie Akhurst 18
Norman Walter Akhurst 15 assistant in business. born Sandwich
Norman is one of only two children born to this couple. So they lost their only son in war.

His probate is on ancestry, granted to his father Walter James Akhurst Ironmonger. It states that Norman of The Priory Market Street Sandwich died on 6 June 1918 at West Front, Avuley Wood, France ( so there is a discrepancy of 2 days in the death date.)

Norman's medal roll card has 6865 as his regiment number and he entered France 23 Dec 1917. It has his date of death as the 8June 1918 He received the Victory and the British Star medals. His is one of the more interesting medal roll cards with lots of army numerical notations (which I don't understand)

William A. Andrews (04-07) Sergeant Buffs
Commemorated LOOS MEMORIAL, Calais. Panel 15-19. Died 26 Sept 1915. Aged 24. Service number S/718
This is another one who is proving difficult to find especially as CWGC site is telling me the page can't be found at the moment. ancestry is not revealing a medal card for an Andrews (with any first name) in the The Buffs East Kent Regiment or any service man with the number S/718. Of course if no-one applied for his medals he won't have a card.
The only service record for a man of this name is for one in the marines so no luck there either.

However it looks as if This site may have a photograph of him if the school is willing to pay 3 pounds 95p.

    Andrews W A Sergt 8th East Kent Reg…

Ah found him. It is G718 and he is transcribed with his initials only

    W A Andrews
Regiment or Corps 8/E Kent R
    Regimental Number G/718

He went in to France 31 August 1915. He received the British, Victory and 15 Star medals. In remarks says D Pres? 26 September 1915 So that is date of death probably which should make him easier to find on CWGC
