Mis-filed with a lad called Scotton, also DLI, also killed in action May 1918, in the WW1 Service Records (WO 363). Surname given as Lummas, but I can't match any BMD info with the details found (apart from siblings, below). Hopefully, if he's yours, something will ring a bell?

Bert LUMMAS, enlisted 1917, declared age 18yr 4mth. KIA May 1918. Regt Nos 32269, 20192, 79674 (DLI).

Father HERBERT, died 1898, according to mother's statement.

Mother DORIS. In 1919 she gives her surname as GURNHILL and lives in SHEFFIELD.
She has 3 children surnamed GURNHILL: Dorothy (b1905), Florence (b1906) & Wilfred (b1913). These births are in BMD. Wilfred's gives mother's maiden name as ROBERTS.
In 1921 she signs the Medal Receipt as "MMJ WILKINSON late GURNHILL".

Of course, "Bert" could be Bertie, or Herbert, or Albert, or Bertram, or several other possibilities!
Lummas could be Lammas.
