My father was posted to India in 1916 with the Kent Cyclists Battalion who were then merged with the the QO Royal Kents. I cannot trace their time in India or find out which regiment he eventually ended up in. They returned to UK in 1920. He then went out to India again in 1921 working for the Indian Railways based in Madras and was a member of the Madras and South Maharata volunteer reserve (this came with the Job I think) - can anyone shed any light on this?

Yes I have this information but cannot trace his active service in India - I do however have a tankard with the inscription "Coy-Serg-Major WHSmith from Major Prescot R.E. B45th & 34th Divisional Signal Companies Oct 1917-Oct 1919 but have no idea how to follow this up!
