Hi, does anyone have any information on No1 Base Signals and Radar Unit (BSRU)? I know that most of the Unit were killed when their LST hit a mine off Ostende in November 1944, but am looking for information on where thye were based in the UK (believed to be Chigwell?), and also where they were going once they had landed on the continent and also equipment used.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

LST accident, 7Nov1944
The LST hit a mine just off Ostende, with the loss of 14 officers and 224 other ranks. Have found this archived thread on another site: https://www.rafcommands.com/archive/03060.php. Not sure if it gives the info you are looking for, but there is a list of names.
Let us know if it gives you any leads.

Many thanks for the replies.
The link to the Rquirk site has some extra information that I was not aware of, which is great.
I have already looked at the RAFCommands site on a number of occasions, however it doesn't give me anything new, I do appreciate your reply though.
