I am trying to find details of my dads service for RAF 75 squadron during WW2. Its a shame I didnt know this before I spent $30 joining up because it stated "Find you military ancestors now". You need to have a disclaimer that you dont have WW2 records.

He was a Lancaster Pilot who flew 40+ missions over Germany. I am visiting the UK for the first time net month and would love to visit some of the airfield sites he would have been stationed at. But I guess I cant do it through this site.

If in doubt google! either your father's name or RAF 75 , you will get results for the latter. You could look at the London Gazette where official Forces notices are posted
Post his name let's see what we can find....

Hello and welcome to British-Genealogy
I have moved your posts to a thread of their own in Military - Royal Air Force so two different queries don't get muddled together.
As you have already read no WW11 service records are online on any site. The Ministry of Defence still holds them. You can apply for them, see this 'sticky' which explains what to do and what you will need. Unfortunately there will be a long wait to receive them so won't help with your trip next month. Only his personal records will tell you what squadron he belonged to, where he was stationed and when.
Using a search engine will bring up many sites with general information.
We are British-Genealogy and our sponsors are Forces War Records who are the one's to contact about your disappointment with the results of your search on FWR. If you go back to their homepage there is a contact link you can use.
Have a wonderful trip to the UK, I am green with envy,

A question. Did your Dad survive the war?
There are details about 75squadron here https://www.raf.mod.uk/history/bomber...75squadron.cfm.

Hi Tony,
We've got a few books on Bomber Command Losses and War Diaries in the office.
Could you tell me your fathers name? I'd be happy to take a look and see what we have.
You might find this blog site useful as well:
https://75nzsquadronremembered.wordpress.com/
It's devoted to 75 Squadron (NZ) and while sadly incomplete is based on the Operational Record Books for the squadron which Forces War Records does not have access to currently.
Kind Regards,
Tom
