    Default Baldwin. Purleigh essex

John Baldwin states in census that he was born in Purleigh, essex, circa 1782/6. (Near Maldon). cannot find him, later traced to Great Wakering and Shoebury where he marries twice and has family and is traceable from there on. One of his sons Joseph Baldwin believed born Shoebury area, birth not found although other children are recorded.
His second wife Susannah Braybrook born Burnham on Crouch. Have been stuck here for years cannot progress back until I find birth for John or pick up on a Baldwin line. Any suggestions or information would be appreciated.

    many thanks

If I were you I'd pop into Essex Record Office for an hour or two. Alternatively try the Society of Genealogists library in Clerkenwell.
