    Hi All

I have been researching my family history when time permits (work just keeps getting in the way) over the last 15 years. I have made a reasonable dent on the English side (father), but the German side (mother) is going to prove to be a little more difficult. I live in Australia so the internet has been a god send when it has come to family research. I am relatively new to a forum and I am wondering if it is reasonable to post a request for assistance in photographing some headstones at the Bishopwearmouth Cemetery, Sunderland, as it is just a little too far away for me to do this. Hello Glen and welcome to British-Genealogy

Life does get in the way of our serious pursuits doesn't it? German research is way out of my league, my lot did at least stay/return to England from their travels.
In regards to a gravestone photo I can only suggest that you post your request in the most suitable forum (county?) and if there is a member who lives anywhere near there I am sure you will receive an offer of help. Once we have this information it may be that the gravestones have already been photographed and are online.

    Hello Glen
You could try BillionGraves .com or Findagrave. Both are asking for volunteers to provide information but also have a section where you can request assistance from others. You might consider becoming a volunteer to photograph your local cemetery as well. We can all help each other this way. Judwim
