Hello I am researching the Taylor family and have been for the past ten years.
I am having a major problem with the Taylor's that served in the second world war. I know of one that served in the Royal Navy and one that served in the Merchant Navy. Can't find info on any of them.

Hello Paul,
Welcome to British-Genealogy.
As you are probably already aware, Taylor is a fairly common name, so we need a few more details to be able to help you. Even then it depends on exactly what sort of information you hope to find.
For the Merchant Navy people I would suggest a read of the research guides from the National Archives which will tell you what sort of records you might find and where.
https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/records/atoz/m.htm
Similarly, research guides for the Royal Navy are available (scroll down)
https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/records/atoz/r.htm
Have you checked for deaths for any of them? www.cwgc.org
If you have more precise details about names, years and places of birth, and exactly what sort of information you want, then hopefully we can help you further.

I would say 'me bad' but military stuff is not my area of expertise so I missed a somewhat shorter résumé of RN records

(scroll down to Royal Navy, about half-way down the page)

Hello Pam,
My problem is with Ronald Harry Taylor born 1924 at Sussex, England.
Ronald joined the Merchant Navy in world War 2.
I believe he worked on a troop carrier as he dropped off troops to Africa, Sicily, and Italy that I know off.
He received medals such as Battle of Atlantic, North Africa, Atlantic Star, Burma Star and more.
I have tried War Forces Records, Ancestry. with no help.
Regards

Paul,
As you have started a thread specific to Ronald, and because this is an 'introduce yourself' thread, I will close this one to avoid duplication of information.
If anyone can help Paul, please go to this thread.
Pam
