Lee, harking back to your 1st post re 'William S. Vinson', where did you get the 2nd initial from? it may help to find his parents.
I've been fishing about ( instead of breakfast) & the only baptisms I could find were in Cornwall. ( perhaps he wasn't baptised?)

This is the couple whose name I have written down as potential parents. ( Think you have transposed the year of marriage 9 April 1792 ) I then went looking to see if there were many VINSON in the county of Devon, answer NO!
On a random surname search most VINSON's seem to have their roots in Cornwall...off I went again ( you will note that I am technically a North West researcher and sadly do not venture 'down the country!!) Out came the google map....by road Welcombe Devon is approx 13 miles from the village of Woolley how ever as the crow flies, presume over the moorland it is approx 3 miles.
You can find most of these entry on the Cornwall OPC & Familysearch site both of which are FREE to use.
You should be able to order the relevant Parish Register films from a local LDS / Familysearch centre for a small fee, viewing the original documentation rather than the abbreviated form as given above and of course get a copy of the information as part of the paper trail of your researches!!
