This new thread should be linked to two previous threads -Amelia Marshom nee Levey- Henry Lewis Hart and John Levey- Amelia Morris. The focus of this new thread is to identify the possible parents and siblings of Samuel Marshom who was the first husband of Amelia Levey. It is likely that the surname Marshom is a derivation of surnames possibly from Latvia or other parts of Eastern Europe. There are a number of records online which suggest that the parents of Samuel Marshom were Kiva aka Kawa and Gitl. The Hamburger Passenger Lists show Kawa MARSHOM deptarted 9 April 1913 from Hamburg to Grimsby. His dob was abt 1868 age 45 married Residence- Berlin. Nationality English and Occupation Handler. The Ship was the "Accrington". He was travelling with Fanny Marshom 15; Josef Marshom 13 and Samuel Marshom 8. A much earlier UK Incoming Passenger List 1903 recorded- Kiva Marshom 38 General Dealer; Gitl Marshom female 34; Florrie Marshom 7; Morris Marshom 6; Liliy Marshom 4; Fanny Marsjom 3; Joe Marshom 2. They had sailed from Cape Colony South Africa to Southampton.
The Cape Town Archives show that Kawa Marshom applied for Naturalisation in 1903 and also a Mortgage Bond in the name of Kaiva Marshom in 1902.
There are death records for Gitl MARCHOM age 48 Kensington 1a 232 March qtr 1921 and Kiva Marshom age 78 June qtr 1942 Willesden 3a 447.
There are also marriage index records for Kawa Marshom Sept qtr 1937 Westminster 1a 1727 to Leah BRANT and her death Leah MARSHON Dec qtr 1937 age 64 Kensington 1a 163 followed a further marriage of Kawa Marshom to Joanna DIAMONS March qtr 1940 Westminster 1a 1553.
JewishGen Online World Burial Registry show Kate MARSHOM b abt 1873 Death 16 Feb 1921 age 48 and on the tombstone KIWA Marshom - Edmonton Cemetery. Joanna Marshom nee Diamons died March qtr 1941 age 68 Marylebone 1a 781.
London Electoral Registers 1930-1933 record- Debo Marshom and Kawa Marshom living at 15 Seaton Street Camden.
