Looking for help in deciphering my late Grandfathers RAF service!
The entries are as follows after his trade training as he joined on 18/5/39 to 2 Depot Cardington:-
No 2 Wing E & W.S - 28/7/39
Stn ? Acklington - 18/1/40

discharged 29 C.G.H - 1/10/42
H.E - 27/5/43
Stn Aberporth - 12/8/43
Chigwell UUFG3 -27/1/44
5336 K Unit 80 Wing - 22/5/44
105 or 10s MAR Odiham 15/9/44
5336 K Unit - (no date, could be linked with above).
5336 K Unit - 21/12/44
HQ 33 Wing - 22/12/44
7.A.L.G.S.S - 6/6/45
BAFO/PHU - 8/12/45

All info is as appears on his service record, any information to to what the units did or where deployed would be greatly appreciated. I know he was a Radio Operator and I know about his service in Iraq and Aberporth but not much else,
Regards

I'm surprised that they didn't send you the extensive list of abbreviations that I got from them. My comments are in red.
No 2 Wing E & W.S - 28/7/39 Electrical & Wireless School
Stn ? Acklington - 18/1/40 Whereever it says "Stn" read RAF. They're all bases, and on Google.
Iraq - 17/4/40
Stn Basra - 23/5/40
Stn W/T - 21/2/41 Wireless & telegraphy
admitted 29 C.G.H -12/9/42 I think this is a hospital, but am not sure.
discharged 29 C.G.H - 1/10/42
H.E - 27/5/43 Home embarkation
Stn Aberporth - 12/8/43
Chigwell UUFG3 -27/1/44 Don't know what UUFG is
5336 K Unit 80 Wing - 22/5/44
105 or 10s MAR Odiham 15/9/44 I thought that was 10 Squadron until I checked - they weren't at Odiham
5336 K Unit - (no date, could be linked with above).
5336 K Unit - 21/12/44 I think 5336 is a specific section somewhere (eg my Dad was at 399 - a section on a specific base) Have a look at the descriptions of Odiham.
HQ 33 Wing - 22/12/44 Headquarters
7.A.L.G.S.S - 6/6/45 No idea
BAFO/PHU - 8/12/45 British army of occupation
100PDC Release - 14/12/45 (discharge from RAF) Pilot disposal centre
