Tracing family with help from my friend Rosemary my family tree in Cornwall and now Australia for surname Opie/Oppy.

Have you tried the online digitised newspapers at www.trove.nla.gov.au?
If you put "Francis Opie" and then check the SA papers and 1893 you will find several interesting obits for him.

Appears he wasnt the only one from the family who arrived.

The Late Mr. F. Opie. — The death ia announcedof Mr. Francis Opie, of Prospect, a colonist of fifty- four years. He was born in Cornwall in I810, and arrived in South Australia in 1839. In the early days Mr. Opie conducted a service of passenger carts and coaches West Adelaide and the Port, and later on between Adelaide and the Burra, being associated with his late brother, Mr. Nicholas Opie. etc etc
