See JewishGen UK Data base which has a range of records on the Azulay including the Burial record of Mosseh Azulay 1739 Novo (New Cemetery) Bevis Marks and of Solomon Azulay 1785 Apothecary Henage Lane and his wife Judith Torres. There are also numbers of Azulay recorded on the Gibralter Data Base. The Bevis Marks records indicate Sephardi Jews.

Thank you to everyone who has responded, both kind and helpful
Can anyone else explain the jewish naming tradition please? I understood, the mothers family name was used but I am seeing evidence that they basically did what they wanted, whenever suited
Cheers
Jase
