I am posting this new thread on Israel Jacobs and Elizabeth Abrahams because the family trees written by Fanny Elizabeth Lang aka Langensiepen nee SIMONS contains both the Simons and the Israel Jacobs lines. This new thread should be read in conjunction with 2 threads and posts- the first is Simon Jacobs ( Simcha Lemon Man- started 4.10.2013) and the second Philip Simons- Elizabeth (Betsy) Benjamin.
Having looked at the Fanny Lang family tree on the Israel Jacobs lines it appears she may have incorrectly recorded the maiden name as Jacobs when it may be Abrahams. The family tree records Israel Jacobs as a fruiterer and names his children without any dob or other details as: Rebecca m Benjamin Simons; Julia; Clara; Hannah; Samuel m Betsy Phillips ; Abraham; John; James; Alexander; Phillip. The only additional data on the tree relates to the descendants of Samuel Jacobs and Betsy Phillips and these are recorded as: John m Julia Davis; Lizzie? m J Jacobs; Sarah m Jack Moses. The children of John Jacobs are given as: Reggie; Rose; Hilda. The Children of Lizzie are given as: Walter; Raymond; Elsie; Lilinur? . The children for Sarah are given as: Allan?; Elsie; Peggy

Cross checking with the 1841 British Census there is the family of Israel JACOB which appears to match the names of those individuals in the family tree. HO107 1060 2 8 61 6 (Copyright, TNA) Wellington Terrace Lambeth Surrey- IsraeL Jacob 50 fruiterer not b in county; Elizabeth 45; Hannah 25; James 20 general dealer; Samuel 20; Phillip 15 fruiterer; Alexander 15 fruiterer; ? 12; Julia 10; Clara 6; Louisa Nathan 20; Joel Nathan 10 mths -all of the Jacob barring Julia and Clara not b in county

Cemetery Scribes records have- Israel Jacobs ID 1075 death 1846 with the 1841 Census data and the Synagogue Scribes marriage record for Israel Jacobs and Elizabeth Abrahams in 1806. JewishGen London Trade Directory Records also confirm Israel Jacobs -fruiterer at 2 Plumbers Row 1827-28; 1836 and 8 Wellington Terrace Waterloo Road 1836-1840 and as an orange merchant at same address in 1830.

This post provides data on Samuel Jacobs and his marriage to Elizabeth Phillip plus their children. The post also confirms data on Alexander Jacobs brother of Samuel both brothers being the sons of Israel Jacobs. Here is the Probate record for Alexander Jacobs which confirms he and Samuel were brothers- Alexander Jacobs late of 58 Waterloo Road Lambeth Surrey and Covent Graden Market Middx a fruit salesman a bachelor died 1 March 1883 at 58 Waterloo Road. Probate granted to Samuel Jacobs 59 Gower Street and of Covent Garden Middx fruit salesman; the Brother and one of the next of kin.
