Hi,
I am looking for detail regarding my maternal grandfather (named above). He married Georgina Natelie Lester, my grandmother in Durban Natal on 6 October 1923, the only details We have are that he was 37, a bricklayer, and living in a hotel. apart from that nothing, I was hoping to discover where he came from. I believe he may have passed in Mozambique in about 1930 or there about. NO one is left who could tell me any different.#Thanks for any help

Welcome to Brit-Gen Khanyisa48
The marriage is on familysearch.org and as you say no other details. Do you have the actual marriage certificate?
Marriage
John Robert Dunlop
6 Oct 1923
Durban, Natal, South Africa
John R age 37 born c1886
Spouse - Georgina Natalie Lester
Age 23 born c1900
It may be an idea to look at Cyndi's list (google it) go to Categories in the left hand column then S for South Africa. The links could give you some ideas as to where to search for certificates etc and other information.
Others will be able to be more helpful than me I'm sure.

Many thanks. Yes we have two Certificates, the original and a duplicate issued by home affairs. Neither show more than the above info.

Have you looked at the genealogical Society of S.Africa's page https://www.eggsa.org/ ?
There's a lot of info there.

Here is a web page compiled by an amateur genealogist who has done the hard yards researching in South Africa and is sharing her experiences and knowledge with fellow researchers who are now in the same position.

You could look at the BMD on findmypast, where they have oversea events recorded these are seperate form the events recorded in the UK, I would expect if either party was UK there may be an entry
