This thread provides data on Sydney Albert Levey 1895-1966 son of Lewis John Levey and Flora Hart. The post is a continuation of previous threads on the Levey/Hart and associated lines. There are several family trees posted on Ancestry.Com which provide a range of data on Sydney Albert Levey but none have provided full data on his roots and his parents barring one posted on by a distant Levey/Hart cousin of mine. As a summary, Lewis John Levey was the son of John Levey and Getrude Lyons. Flora Hart was the daughter of Aaron Hart and Rebecca Crawcour. Data on these specific lines has been previously posted.
Sydney Albert Levey was born in Sydney Australia when his parents were forced to leave Honolulu in 1895- details of the reasons for his father Lewis being imprisoned in Honolulu and forced to leave the country for Australia before returning again to Hawaii are documented in a series of online records.

Sydney Albert Levey was married twice- first to Nina Gardiner and second to Elise GULDBORG HOLST 1891-1982. Elise was a widow and her husband was Volmar Holst 1888-1942.

There is a full obituary on Sydney Albert Levey 1895-1966 as part of a San Francisco Obituary Site- in summary the obituary referred to the death of Sydney in San Francisco after an illness. He was survived by his wife Elise and children plus 15 grandchildren. I have not identified the names of these individuals in case they are still living although his son Sydney Albert Levey jnr died in 1999 Valley Village Los Angeles California.

This post provides data on Sydney Albert Levey Jnr 1927-1999 son of Sydney Albert Levey 1895-1966 and Nina Gardiner- see #1 of this thread.
Sydney Albert Levey jnr was born in Honolulu and settled in San Francisco with his parents where he graduated from the University of San Francisco in 1950 as a certified public accountant. He married Jean ROSE - California Marriage Index - Sydney A Levey- Jean Rose age 20 -29 Oct 1950 San Francisco. He was later to marry Shirley M BLUM nee RODDER. She had previously been married to Gerald H Blum on 12 Sept 1953 Fresno but divorced May 1968 Fresno. She and Sydney were married 20 August 1970 Fresno- Sydney was 42 and Shirley 40. They divorced April 1976 - California Divorce Index.

US City Directories show Jean R Levey and Sydney A Levey at 447 Harvard Ave Fresno in 1951. They are still together in 1955 Fresno California at Williford and Wittshire h 2949 Jonquin pl. Sydney died 91607 Valley Village Los Angeles California 4 May 1999 - his dob 19 Nov 1927.

There is an obituary for Jean Rose Drago aka Jean Rose Levey who died 12 Sept 2013. Jean had married Carl Drago age 52 on 17 Dec 1978. She survived both husbands. Details of her children and family are given in the obituary online Marin Independent Journal Oct 1 2013. I will not name the living relatives. The parents of Jean Rose were Ralph and Rhoda. Jean was born June 4 1930 San Francisco.
