Default 1891 cen who is mrs garten

Hi any help would be greatly appreciated,
    I have a census rg12/1077,
showing the gillings family benjamin and his wife mary, benjamin is from loddon in norfolk, mary is from offord.

There is a marriage for them both in offord 15th mar 1852 her maiden name being kitson.

the lady on the census states she is the mother in law of benjamin, but I cannot find any record anywhere of a susannah garten/garter, nor a deceased husband,

Cannot find a marriage of a garten/garter assuming she was a kitson, or a marriage to a susannah anywhere marrying a garten/garter.

I even wondered if my mary originally was a garten/garter and married a kitson, and became a widow before benjamin, but i cannot find that marriage if it exists either.

    can anyone help

    hi sue,
yes i spotted her death , even if i got her death cert it wont show me much just what she died of and the informant, is her husband likely to be on it because he's already passed away. cant seem to find a susannah garten in any records except for the death and that 1891 census.

This might be Mary and her mother:

    1841 census (Huntingdon and Rutland) 454 book 4 f4 p4
    Front Street, Offord

    Joseph Kitson 1806
    SUSAN 1811
    Sally 1830
    John 1833
    MARY 1835
    William 1838
    All born in County.

Maybe Susannah/Susan married a Mr Garten after the death of her husband?

Possible death for a Joseph Kitson March Q 1843 Huntingdon.

I think this is definitely her, especially in light of 1841 census location and the baptism Sumi found. On your original 1891 census Susanna Garten's place of birth was indexed as Hampshire, but on the original image it is definitely Hunts and not Hants

Susannah KITSON married James FREEMAN Sep qtr 1867 in St.Neots, Huntingdonshire 3b/439

1871 census RG10; Piece: 1533; Folio: 107; Page: 15 has Susanna FREEMAN, 63, born Buckden, Hunts.

Now hopefully there is a marriage of a Susanna FREEMAN to a GARTEN!
