Hello, I'm Janet (emeraldwitch). I've been researching my Hardesty line since 1980 when one of my mother's 1st cousins sent me a photo of my great-grandmother, Mary Ann Godwin Hardesty with her 9 surviving children. He identified my grandmother and her siblings and challenged me to find their stories. I've been finding stories ever since. I have a couple of brick walls but I know the answers are there somewhere. I'm really looking forward to looking around here to see if some of the answers are here.
Blessed be, Janet

Hello Janet and welcome to Brit-Gen
We just don't know how long our searching is going to take when we start this hobby/obsession do we?
I see you have already contributed to an ongoing thread about exciting genealogical finds so are familiarising yourself with the forums.
Our members love trying to knock down brick walls so post away on the appropriate forum and let 'em at it.

Hi Janet
Welcome to the Forum. I'm sure you will have a great deal of fun. Do you know where your KNOX family came from? I have Knoxes from Renfrew in Scotland.

No, not yet. My Knox's are in Pennsylvania 1752. I haven't found my 4x great-grandfather yet. I need to work a little harder on this line.
