Red face Hi from Yorkshire UK

My name is Cathy and I've been researching my family history for many years. Recently I've gone in a new direction and have started trying to build up pictures of the lives and times of my ancestors. I came across this site when I was seeking information about the job of the colliery deputy underground and found a very interesting and helpful post from 2006. I've been lurking for a couple of visits and am hoping to get answers to a few more of my unanswered questions. Pleased to meet you!

    Welcome to Brit-Gen Cathy

So glad you decided to come out of the shadows and become a fully fledged member.

As you have already found there are other members like you who love to put 'the meat on the bones' of their ancestors lives. We don't mind whether they are respected pillars of the community or have 'come to the attention' of the authorities, we love 'em all.
Even the seemingly boring ag labs reveal some unexpected surprises.

When you are ready pick the most suitable forum and start posting.

Hi Cathy....welcome to the site. Our ancestors cease being just names on a tree and become real people with hopes, dreams and occupations, once we learn more about their lives. Enjoy your research.
