Hello Mark
I have moved this post to the Lancashire forum because the surname forum is just to post the names you are researching and then it is locked.
I see Nicolina is already on the trail.

Thanks Nicolina, I am originally from Stacksteads in Bacup (Spotland is the old name for the Blackwood area of Stacksteads) and I have the Census info through 1901. Elizabeth (nee Dawson) Bolton Le Sands abt 1822. It's the Joshua born abt 1825 that I am stuck at, Siblings/ Parents/ Uncles&Aunts/ Grandparents ? THX for the prompt reply though.

have you seen the 1841 Census for Claughton? There is a possible family:-
Thomas b. abt. 1786
Elizabeth b. abt. 1796
Grace b. abt. 1833
Jane b. abt. 1836
John b. abt. 1841
searching for PROCTOR and Claughton also brings up a family in Garstang:
Henry b. abt. 1816
Mary b. abt. 1816
Anne b. abt. 1837
Richard b. abt. 1838
Elizabeth b. abt. 1840

in 1861 Joshua has been transcribed as Joseph.
In 1901 there is also a John, born Claughton with a birth year of 1837 which would fit with the rounding up/down of ages in 1841.
He is a widower and his occupation is Mason's Labourer

I wonder if Joshua is actually Joseph and he swaps between the two names. If so then this could be daughter Jane's bpt'. I can't see another Jane Proct*r in the 1851 census to fit this bpt.

I can't see a marriage on familysearch.org for an Elizabeth Dawson and Joshua/Joseph Proct*r.
You may have to buy the marriage cert to find out Joshua's father's name. (this is a messy page of entries- there are four Elizabeth's on the page and 3 grooms!) I take it you got Elizabeth's maiden name from a birth certificate of one of the children?
On same page FreeBMD.

THX, also some were written/transcribed as Prockter in the Census for Spotland. I have just checked my saved sources on the "Free Family History" site (https://familysearch.org/) and I do have those census entries. The entry for John was there too, It's whether they are brothers/cousins/other ? I went to secondary school with a girl I found out was born 3 days before me in the same hospital (Blizzard of 1963) who was my mothers cousins G'Daughter, hence I do not want to assume that John is Joshua's brother as with large families there is a large gap in ages. Claughton-Garstang is a seperate location and is further south from Lancaster than the Claughton Nr Lancaster is. If surviving church registers for St Chad in Claughton do not provide the info, then neighbouring Caton, then Lancaster, then Garstang will be on my parish register research list. It's the access to those surviving parish registers that I do not have. Then there's the gravestones/monument inscriptions. I've been reading the threads a little, Lol.
