Do you have David's father? According to familysearch.org, David was son of William and Mary Proudfoot, baptised at Sharrington on 2nd March 1760. The site has a raft of children of a David and his wife Ann Mason, you might like to look for yourself if you haven't seen them.
Also a marriage of a David to Rebecca Goldsmith in 1785.
Worth a look if these are new to you.
I'll scrabble around a little more.

familysearch.org also has a page of entries for Thomas Proudfoot who may be the one whose grave you found.
I see Nicolina has found some siblings for David.

Many thanks for all this information, it is a great help. My Wife and I visited Salthouse in August 2012 and found the Proudfoot grave in the local churchyard, a great moment for my wife. Her direct descendants moved North to Northumberland and eventually to Glasgow before returning to County Durham so it has been a bit of a "Tour of Britain" tracing them.
Again, thank you for all the assistance.

Hi there,
There is another James Proudfoot born at the same time in 1795 in Aylsham, but I think it is probably your James Proudfoot that marries a Rebecca Fox in Binham St Mary in 1817 as Binham is only 4 miles from Sharrington. (You can find this on free reg https://www.freereg.org.uk/cgi/Search.pl) only the surname is transcribed as Proudford.
They have children in Holt
James bapt 7 May 1818 St Andrew Holt
Mary Ann bapt 10 Feb 1820 St Andrew Holt
Mary Ann bapt 20 Aug 1822 St Andrew Holt
Susan bapt 21 May 1824 St Andrew Holt
Harriett bapt 16 Feb 1826 St Andrew Holt
Betsy bapt 28 Apr 1828 St Andrew Holt
David bapt 22 May 1830 St Andrew Holt
John bapt 22 May 1830 St Andrew Holt
This is also found on free reg.

I've found the marriage here
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3....SL5:1890416759
Date of marriage is 13 May 1817
Witnesses are a ?? Proudford and Margreat Proudford
Here is the Holt baptism register for the relevant time period
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3....-QL2:915614426
By the way free reg has a James Proudfoot dying in Aylsham aged 26 in 1822 so this means the other James Proudfoot is most likely your ancestor.
