Hi, I am a completely new member an wondered if anyone out there has any knowledge on how to find a birth in India.
I am looking for a Frederick Selwood who on the British 1901 census said that he was born about 1866 in Lucknow, on the 1911 census he said he came from Bombay but at least his year of birth was consistent.
Can anyone please point me in the right direction?
Many thanks
Nimrod

gravestonephotos.com has details of the death of Frederick 1867 - 1933 / Amy 1877 - 1951 & son John 1912 - 1944
They are buried in St Mary Magdalen Altofts there is a site map as well
googling the name I found a now defunct RSA site ancestry24, however I was able to get the researchers e mail addy which I have sent via pm
Findmypast has seperate records for BMD overseas however FG SELWOOD is not listed so could his father either have been Indian by birth or Irish?

hallo Nimrod, and a warm welcome to BG. As your query was about India and there have been several replies which might interest others, I have moved this thread from Introduce Yourself to Indian Genealogy
