    Default Swerford baptism 1897

    Hi Folks

Does anyone have a baptism list for Swerford?

I'm trying to identify the family of a Hollis Howton Rose baptised in the first quarter of 1897. The 1901 and 1911 census has him living with his Uncle John in Swerford and at some point between 1911 and when he enlisted in the South Staffordshire Regiment in 1916 or there abouts, moved up to North West Leicestershire.

I'm trying to document the stories behind all the men listed on the village war memorial and a third of them followed the same path as my own family moving here to work in the coal mines of the area.

    Cheers

    Hollis Hawtin Rose
    Jan-Feb-Mar 1897
    R/D - Chipping Norton
    Oxfordshire
    Vol - 3a
    Page - 942.

Maybe his birth cert would give his parentage.

Maybe his mother is Jane Parsons ROSE b1868. Swerford, Oxfordshire. (Could be illigitimate child of Jane's).

Many thanks all, very much appreciated.

I had seen the sister of the head on the census and wondered if Hollis as the nephew were Jane's son. Now I know, cheers.
