    I have found the rest of the family on the Canadian Passsenger List 1865 -1935, but I do not have world wide subscription so cannot see anything other than names and port of arrival - Quebec.

    William Henry, Lydia, Charles, Frank E, Lilian, Harold, Edwin, Evingard (Ermingard?), and Doris Langsford.

    Pennydog: Thanks so much for your help. This appears to be correct from what info I have. Ermengard is supposed to be the first child of William and Lydia.

    This is the birth reg for Ermengard (only months after William and Hope appear on the 1901 census together), if you buy the birth certificate you will be certain whether Hope or Lydia is her mother.

    Glad the other info panned out for you.

    I have posted further information on my post concerning William Henry Langsford. Is there any way these two posts can be combined as we seem to be talking about the same family. I am trying to post a scan of the newspaper cutting and will let you know when I have succeeded.

    Hi
    I am now trying to find the father of William Henry. My research shows two other posibilities from above (1)Thomas b1818 married to Ann Hargraves b1826 d1823 they show the same children as above with the same birthdates. (2) Thomas b 1818 married to Anne Locke b1821 however only show Sarah Ann b1831. Child birth date not the same. I am confused, can anyone help me?

    I think you really need to get William Henry's birth cert which will confirm the name of his parents and his mother's maiden name.

    This looks like the reference;

    William Henry Langsford - September qtr 1859 Crediton 5b 360

    Hi Penny: An update, I received copy of birth certificate on William Henry Langsford. His parents are Thomas Langsford and Ann Langsford formally Lock. It definately answered my question. Thanks for your help. Shari
