    Hi,

    I am wondering if there is any way of finding info on a relative of mines career in the Met Police.

    Charles Tambling.
    Born 1883 Chedzoy, Surrey
    Died 1957

    He was in the Coldstream Guards from 1901-1906. And I guess joined the Met shortly after.

    Hello Ian - welcome to Brit-Gen,

    Have you had a read of this TNA Research Guide about the Metropolitan Police?

    You may also be interested in the Met Police website (met.police.uk/history/genealogy.htm) but records are protected by the one hundred year rule.

    I will give that a try later, though I never seem to get very far with TNA.

    PS- Meant to write Chedzoy, Somerset. (Don't know where I got Surrey from!)
