Default Where did this marriage take place?

    Help please.
I am trying to locate the 1851 and 1861 census records for a 3xGGrandmother Mary Ann Leonard b Ireland 1814 - 1818. I have a tentative marriage to a John Moran in 1863 but when I googled the location I came up with the following information.

    Marriage Locator Search Results
    GRO Index: 1863 quarter 1, volume 8d, page 607:
This marriage was at Manchester (Registrar Attended) (RD: Manchester).

Does anyone know where this might be? Mary may have married earlier but this is the only one I can find.

I have the 1841, 1871 and 1881 census records for her. She lived in Buglawton Cheshire, Leek and Lowe, Staffordshire and may have married in Hulme, Manchester where her daughter was living. She was married in the 1871 census, but not living with her husband and was widowed by 1881.
    Thanks
    Annamarie

Can't find it on LancsBMD and that is usually quite accurate. Although I think parts of Manchester may, at one time, have been in Chesire.

The nearest I could find was John Moran > Mary Ann Follin, 1868, Blackburn Register Officer or Registrar Attended.

Amend that. Now found it on FreeBMD. John Moran > Mary Ann Leonard Q1 1863.

I have seen an explanation, not sure if on here, on how to possibly identify a Church from the GRO number. I'll see if I can find it again.

I hadn't considered the possibility that Manchester registration district may have extended into Cheshire. I wonder what it covered during the 1860s?

Sorry Lizzie. They are not in pairs. They are in alphabetical order.

The thread about identifying the church is HERE.

Yes Ken, I know that. However, Lancs BMD has them paired in the way I matched them.

Do you have her daughter Helen's birth record?

or she may have been Ellen?
