Default Middlesex-London Ties - Surname ALDRED

What I've found from Ancestry.com records:

John ALDRED [c. 1754-c.1822] and his wife, Martha MNU [c. 1751-c.1824] were both buried at St. Mary, Hornsey, Haringey, Middlesex cemetery as well as some of their children enumerated below:
    Children:
    1. William Parry - b. c. 1778; bur. December 22, 1783, St. Mary, Hornsey
    2. Susanna Maria - b. c. 1780; bur. March 27, 1781, St. Martin, Pomeroy, London
    3. John - b. August 4, 1781, St. Martin, Pomeroy; bur. December 5, 1783, St. Mary, Hornsey
    4. George - b. July 3, 1783, St. Martin, Pomeroy; bur. April 28, 1856, Lewisham, Kent
    5. Harriett - b. February 19, 1785, St. Martin, Pomeroy; no further info
    6. SOPHIA - B. April 29, 1786, St. Martin, Pomeroy; d. between 1861-1871, Earnestown, Ontario, Canada' m. John MANCUR, November 7, 1807, St. Mary, Newington
    7. John - b. September 9, 1787, St. Martin Pomeroy; d: Bethnal Green Parish; bur. May 10, 1804, St. Mary, Hornsey
    8. Martha - bap. April 5, 1789, St. John at Hackney; d. after 1861; mar. Thomas Easton, February 1820
    9. William - b. June 9, 1791, Christ Church, Spitalfield; d. St. Paul's Covent Gardens Parish; bur. June 24, 1802, St. Mary, Hornsey
    10. Maria Harriett - b. February 28, 1793, Christ Church, Spitalfield; d. c. 1856, Middlesex; m. John Marmaduke Candy, April 1810, Christ Church, Middlesex

On parish records, John Aldred is listed as "mans mercer on baptism records." John and Martha paid duties for 3 women "mantua makers" in 1782 with their residence listed as St. Martin's Ironmonger Lane, London.
John had fire insurance policy January 1786 as "warehouseman" of King Street, Cheapside. In 1792 Sun Fire Office listed him as Insured, 8 Union Street, Bishopgate without, mans mercer. In the London Gazette issue of August 14, 1787, John was declared a "bankrupt"

In March 1790 [again London Gazette issues] a partnership between "John Aldred and Richard Bennett of Great Turnftile, Holborn, in the County of Middlesex, Mans Mercers, (carrying on Trade under the Firm of Richard Bennett and Co.) was by mutual confent diffolved."

This entry brings additional questions: both Sophia ALDRED Mancur and her brother George ALDRED named sons Richard Bennett Mancur and Richard Bennett Aldred. Sophia ALDRED MANCUR named a son George Aldred MANCUR; and George ALDRED named a daughter Augusta SOPHIA MANCUR ALDRED! So, who/what was the relationship of Richard Bennett to the ALDRED family?

Until I found these records my line had always assumed that "Aldred" was a forename, but indeed it was a SURNAME. George Aldred Mancur's have shown up in succeeding lines in Canada.

Looking for parents of John Aldred and his wife, Martha; marriage records, anything. Only one of their male children, George, survived to adulthood.

All help or suggestions will be gratefully received.

    Might this be their marriage:

John Eldred (sic) + Martha Herbert
    Banns 11 Dec 1785
    Parish: St Marylebone
    Borough: Westminster
    Register Type: Parish Reg'r

One Bapt'm for a Martha Herbert is:

Martha Herbert Christening 22 Sep 1751 St Andrew, Holborn, London Parents Edward Herbert +Ann Herbert
    Grays Inn Lane.

This would be a very long shot, but might be worth risking the £3.36 download fee. The will of a Richard Bennett, mercer of Houndsditch, City of London, was proved at the PCC in 1818. You can download a copy from the National Archives' website:

If so, This would make Martha his second wife as some children were born prior to this marriage date. I'll tuck this away for future scrutiny, as you just never know! Thanks very much for your time and help.

Part of the above is incorrect.
Williams baptism was in fact in July 13th, 1791, My eye was taken by the date on the Burial of 3 yr old William Parry Aldred in 1783. Apologies.

John and Martha had two sons named William and two sons named John. They also used the names Maria and Harriett for daughters in various orders: Susanna Maria; Harriett; and Maria Harriett. They were very unfortunate to have so many children die young.
