Default Unusual marriage listing - help

I have in my tree, a Sandra Nitkowski, daugter of Esther Tinlin McEvoy and Aloyzy Nitkowski, and born in Hartlepool in 1948.

I have a marriage listed for Sandra Nitkowski, in Hartlepool in Q4 1969, to a Robert H. Warriner. When I looked him up, he is listed twice, marrying both a Nitkowski, and a Nicholls, listed in the same volume, and on the same page. As far as I know, she wasn't married before, and she'd only have been just 21 here.

There are children listed under the surname Warriner, in Hartlepool after 1969, but with Nicholls as the surname.

Any ideas? Has she changer her name to something more pronouncable?

    Probably.

Robert H. Warriner may be *listed* twice, but two listings with the same reference in the *index* does not mean that there are two records. She's *probably* shown as "Nicholls otherwise Nitkowski" (or v.v.) on the marriage record.

The way to be *sure* that this is the case is, of course, to get the marriage certificate.
