My ancestor William Prichard death certificate (1B, 199) says he died at Islington Infirmary (no address given) on 4th October 1878 sub registration district; Islington East.
Would this infirmary be attached to St John's Road Workhouse?
If so, the London Metropolitan Archives holds the following records:
- ISBG/284/003 St John's Road Workhouse: Admission and Discharge Register (1876 1879)
- ISBG/277/002 Saint John's Road Workhouse: Admission and Discharge Register (1876 1879)
- ISBG/281/006 St John's Road Workhouse: Weekly Admissions (1877 1878)
- ISBG/283/005 St John's Road Workhouse: Weekly Admissions (Admission and Discharge Registers - chronological) (1878 1879)
- ISBG/282/006 Saint John's Road Workhouse: weekly admissions registers (1877 1878)
- ISBG/290/001 St John's Road Workhouse: Register of Deaths (1867 1888)
Aside from the obvious, what information may/would the registers contain and would they contain any family information e.g next of kin, known family etc.?
