    Default XP and Vista Query

This is gonna take some explaining, please bare with me.

    I am running Windows 7

I have 'Photobucket', as many others do.

Now to save me having to log in and out of PB I have logged in and then on the tab at the top I have right-clicked and selected 'Pin as App Tab'

This shrinks the tab to about 1cm and just displays a picture of a camera.

When I close firefox down I don't log out of PB. FF just closes.

When I start FF the next time PB's little camera icon is still there and I am still logged in.

If say I want to post a picture on here I can click on the little PB tab select the picture and click back on here and post.

This, as I say, saves me having to log in and out of PB all the time.

I can do this to with any site I visit should I wish to.

Can Vista or XP users tell me if by right-clicking on an open tab does it give you the option to 'Pin as App Tab' or is this option only available in Windows 7

It's certainly not confined to Windows 7 because the option is available on the Linux version that I'm using at the moment!

Thank you Peter. So we know it is on Linux too. Is it on XP and Vista too?

Oh silly me. It's not a windows thing, It's a part of Firefox. So anyone with Firefox can do it. Gonna see If I can do it in IE.

    It would appear not.

Thanks for the tip of App Tab - never spotted this before!
It will almost certainly be a browser facility - i.e. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Opera, Chrome and others - but will only be available above whatever version number. If one browsr does it and it looks good, they will all implement it.
It will not be an operating system function - i.e. XP, Vista, 7, Linux in all its manifestations.
