Earliest Lamoon

Hi,
I'm trying to determine the origin of Lamoon and the variants of the surname.

I've found the following Lamoon's

George Lamoon - b1772 Ireland (unsure); died Unkwn
George has military records but I've not been able to see them 1st hand yet;
Joseph LaMoon - 1793 England – 1876 - I believe that he's the son of George.
Benjamin LaMoon - 1797 Claremorris Ire – 1866 - I believe that he's the son of George.
Ann Sophia LaMoon - 1807 – d. unknown - I believe she's the daughter of George;

I have been trying to tie these folks into my family tree but since I can't find any solid information, its been a chore.

Does anyone with more experience with puzzles have an idea of what or where I can go next?

This ties into my previous posts related to Lamoon.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
