Could Albroath, Sussex actually be Aldeburgh, Suffolk?
Aldeburgh is probably about 20 miles south along the coastline from Southwold.

FamilySearch has a submitted entry for Cavendish Smith christened 18th March 1804 at Walberswick, Suffolk. Could that be it, mumbled through his beard?

Just looked at the map, and it's not far from Southwold at all.

Just across the River Blyth - I know the area well.

Many thanks to everyone for there help. I must admit that when I saw "Mariner" on the census, I pictured a salty old sea dog type and it also explains why I felt an attachment the one and only time I've been to Southwold.

Once again, my thanks to all.

If this is your Cavendish, and if the information is correct, his parents were James Smith and Mary Symonds.
