    Default Thomas James Griffiths

He is just a 'twig' in my tree but of his siblings, he is the only one I can't account for either with a marriage or his death.

He was born in Mile End, London around early 1900 and was baptised in Stepney St. Augustine on the 15th April 1900. His father was an Iron Moulder.

    Addresses as per census are
1901 - 72 Northam Street, West Ham, Essex
    1911 - 53 Brooks Road, Plaistow, Essex.

For now, all I would like to know is if he married and when he died.

Census references and parentage would have been helpful

As Colin is offline, the census references are as follows:

    1901 RG13; 1564; 57; 41 (and it's Mortham Street, not Northam)
    1911 RG14PN9416 RG78PN507A RD188 SD3 ED6 SN104

The parents are Maurice (b 1870) and Ann (b.1871).

Thanks Wendy, this looks very promising.

Maurice died in in Essex, South Western in 4th q. 1945 and Ann Jane died in Waltham Forest on March 18, 1970. I believe at one time prior to the formation of Greater London as a district, Waltham Forest was part of Essex county. Am I correct?

I think I can now tie up the bits and pieces of Thomas, if the above marriage is right.

It looks like they had 2 children in West Ham, one in 1927 who died in 2002 in Swindon and another in 1931.

A Thomas J.born 1900 died in Essex South Western in 1955.

On a different note, it appears that his mother Ann Jane outlived several of her children. She died as noted in post #6 - she was 99 years and 9 months old - the closest Ive got to anyone living to a century.

The London Borough of Waltham Forest was formed in 1965 by the combination of the Municipal Boroughs of Walthamstow, Leyton and Chingford, all of which were formerly in Essex.

    Best wishes
    Ann
