Dear All Is there any one could help me solve a problem, On my fathers first marriage cetificate it states he was in the cheshire regiment private 4129397 but it has something in brackets which looks like it reads davery ? roundmans? weird this was in 1940 when he was 20yrs old, asked a few people and no one can understand what it says Any idea's ant help would be grateful Maureen

Does any one no what a dairy roundsman was in cheshire reginment in ww11

Dairy roundsman was his civilian job - the one he used to do before he was called up and to which he hoped to return when released from the army.
It was not unusual during the war for a man to state both his current regiment and his non-wartime civilian job.
sheilastain said much the same thing when you asked this before.
